“Sea Of Cortez,” curated by James Taylor for the AKA festival, was shut down by space managers and organisers of the festival, who painted over the artwork and installation in pink. The exhibitors relaunched the show with the added pink paint. But organisers soon locked them out for good.
After the festival, the artists were let back in—to clean up. They restored the walls and cleared the space.
